Michael is one of the masterminds behind our recent winning streak in League. He’s from Greece, likes beer and lemonade, and has grand ambitions for the team this year. Without further ado;
What is your role in the team and how would you describe it?
I am the assistant coach. While our coach focuses on the players outside of the game, I help more on the in-game side with strategy, analysis, and game mechanics.
When did you start playing League, and when did you start taking it more seriously?
I started playing in season 2, and I started coaching in September of 2017. After having analyzed hundreds of games, I realized this was what I enjoyed the most. I never give my players a plan that doesn’t focus on strategic win conditions. League at this level doesn’t just require game mechanics, but also “thinking mechanics”, and to help players understand the game and thinking more strategically, drives me as a professional in League.
What advice would you give to others looking to do the same?
You have to love it. If you do, making the necessary sacrifices will be relatively straight forward.
Ambitions for yourself, and for nR as a team this season?
For this season it’s very simple; qualifying for the UKLC. For me personally, it’s getting more experience in this position. Nothing worth doing comes easy, and I think this team has strong chances to stay together long enough that we don’t just win, but grow together, and ultimately leave a legacy.
Favourite gaming snack?
I am snacking more than I should! Pringles and popcorn, usually combined with a beer, cola, or lemonade.
What do you do when you don’t play League?
I mostly play other games with friends. Everything from CS to Minecraft.
Any particular matches you are looking forward to up next?
I think most people, both players, and viewers, are looking forward to our match against Resolve.
Message for the fans?
Chill even if we lose a game, don’t rage, and we look forward to your continued support 🙂
